Our life revolves around computerised systems. Mind you, remember that we were all going to die in the 50's and 60's from Hydrogen Bombs big enough to destroy entire counties? Strangely enough we are all still here, but with a new bogeyman. But this one is a bit more barmy than the last one.

JFKvsNixon
theres a big difference with a glitch and a virus I never suggested that there wasn't, it was the effect of the glitch that I thought had something in common with what artisan was suggesting. artisan
Didn't you ever hear about the Y2K computer glitch that was supposed to bring an end our computer dependant lifestyles? The Y2K glitch would be as nothing to this kind of thing. Viruses and worms etc eat into operating systems, and spread rapidly from one machine to another. Most people like you and me, can get rid of the simple ones easy enough. But it requires top experts to get rid of the major ones, and they are few and far afield. If someone was clever enough to make one that would transmit straightaway, by the time our top men were on to it, it would be too late.
