chem1st
Would the insurance company demand a crime number? I suspect not, although they might refuse to believe that a woodpecker was responsible. I wouldn't have thought they would have a go at a window frame, but evidently they will if the mood takes them. That's what I'd be paranoid about, suppose I could lie, if it did break the window.

You definitely don't need a crime number for that sort of damage. I found that out when I had to claim for a TV broken by a cat pushing it off the shelf it was sitting on! truman
I doubt the police would/could give you a crime number, as no crime has been committed. Unless of course you report them to the *ahem* flying squad *ahem* Baddum tish.....he's here all week folks..
foxy lady
Would I have to report it to the police to claim on the insurance??? I have a woodpecker that keeps pecking at the window frame and pulling out the rubber seal. I'm worried it might have a go at the glass as it was looking at its own reflection earlier. Funny little thing it is. Anybody else had anything like this? Many home insurance policies will exclude attacks by wild animals.
