My car insurance has doubled - why?

I think you are paying for the idiocy of others in cars of the same type. This always happens with insurance....the risk is assessed with type / history.

Here's one i remember where a Honda Civic Type R and a Ford Focus ST seemed to be racing each other & a woman in a Nissan Micra was killed.....

You only have a year's experience....if you're happy to not swap your car and pay 3-400 pounds more for insurance that's your choice...

What so what you are suggesting is that i go down to a 1.2 clio save £140 in insurance when i can pay the extra drive a 2litre and mostly stick to the car i have had for a year which i know is safe and in good sound condition?

Where has your £300-400 figure come from ?

If you've passed your test within the last 18 months, why not ask if doing Pass Plus will help?

It can halve your premiums sometimes.

Also, if you're under 25, I have details of an insurance company who might be able to help
