Bulgarian
Even the airline industry are recognising that all these security measures are putting people off flying Not the prices/taxes then ?
StrangeSaz
I had no idea the scanners did this- surely they cant justify it, if having a member of the opposite sex running a metal detector or frisking your legs is an invasion of privacy- seeing someone naked is far worse- especially if they don't tell you! Berberis
Well to all those people who think these scanners are a good idea and believe the propaganda about the images not being stored: One Hundred Naked Citizens: One Hundred Leaked Body Scans http://gizmodo.com/5690749/these-are-the-first-100-leaked-body-scans
Magilla
This is just a means of getting the public to be submissive but then if you don't mind someone making indecent images of your children in the name of security then you deserve all you get. Since when are pictures of naken children automatically indecent?
Magilla
Well to all those people who think these scanners are a good idea and believe the propaganda about the images not being stored Personally I could care less, it's not like I have anything that no-one else has. If I were a frequent traveller I might be concerned about the exxposure to radiation and subsequent buildup, other than that, no worries.
boyfriday
Yep, because one of them is on Strictly and simply wouldn't be leaving the country. Well, until she gets kicked off, of course ..5 weeks later and she's still there Karis!
rubydazzler
Whenever I see this thread title I have a mental image of the OP sniggering like a 13 yr old boy looking at an Anne Summers catalogue!
Nagel
The largest American pilots union have advised them not to go through these scanners due to health concerns. They work using ionising radiation (in fact X-rays) which can disrupt your DNA leading to increased risk of cancer. They're so unpopular in the USA that they now have the nickname 'porno-scanners'. http://www.thenewamerican.com/index.php/usnews/health-care/5067-pilots-urged-to-avoid-body-scanners And this article is scary - http://www.uberreview.com/2010/11/naked-scanners-will-give-someone-skin-cancer.htm
ANGELFIRE1
Better to be scanned by a machine that shows precious little to the operative, than ending up as worm bait. Regards Angel.
Nagel
It's possible that more people will die from skin cancer caused by these machines than will be saved from attacks on planes by Muslims. Why not use simpler less invasive technology like a pat down? And yes, X-rays are MUCH more invasive than a pat down.
