Manchester airport security scanners, now compulsory, men see women naked !

Recommended Posts

Fair enough, I expect you are right. I find the paedo on every corner arguments more absurd than the surveillance ones.

Precisely.

And since people really aren't bothered by having their bodies revealed, I 'd say dispense with the scanner, and just have a booth to undress in. It's a bit slower, but you can easily expand your system at very low cost to accomodate 5 or 10 passengers in individual cubicles.

You can have a trained and vetted security attendant watching each cubicle from behind a one way mirror, and no photographic record will exist.

You simply step into the booth, remove your clothes, make one or two full turns with your hands in the air, replace your clothes and exit.

This prototocol will cost much less and can be implemented worldwide, even in the poorest countries who may not be able to afford a hundred grand for a whizzy scanner.

I travel on planes quite regular, and I could not care less about being seen naked when scanned. The airport is always so busy, the security don't have time to dwell on someone's x-ray image.

I am a retired nurse and believe me I have seen many many naked bodies, no point in bothering about a split second scan.

But what about the fact that the risk from these machines is the same as the risk from being blown up in a plane? They will kill as many people through increased skin cancers -

A pair of these tungsten pants should help maintain privacy and reduce the xray bombardment of your nethers

Amazing how many pictures come out of a machine that is impossible to save the pictures from, isn't it?

and even the operators know that if all else fails they can take a photo of the screen. I think these machines should be banned or at least optional obviously but I still wonder at the mentality of the people that want the images:loopy: although theres no denying that plenty of them seem to want them
