Trevor Taylor F1 GP Racer

Morts

Recommended Posts

I've just been reading an obituary about Trevor Taylor who originally hailed from Sheffield and passed away last week. Trevor was one of the early pioneers of F1 Grand Prix and raced in 29 GP's between 1959 and 1966. He was accredited with having the yellow stripes painted on the front of the all green Lotus F1 cars.

I'm sure there are other motor sport fans out there who remember him and the cars he raced.

Ace Garage was run by his father in Bramley, Rotherham (Hellaby to be exact). It later became Freeway Cars but continued to be run by the Taylor family. Unfortunately I rarely saw him. I gather he was quite a celebrity in sixties Rotherham!
