hitch_1980
I would love to think that working class people who are are on a less than medium wage were union members. Unfortunately this is not the case. Trying to get people to join a trade union is a thankless task. Partly because the papers have spent years demonising the unions and partly because people have the completely unfounded belief that no-one needs unions any more. Ed Miliband isn't going to target any vote. It's impossible to do that - how can you possibly know what someone earns when you canvass their opinion? Labour policies towards the less well off have been the same for years - that's why the minimum wage was introduced and equal pay for women was top of the Labour agenda. That won't change. Ed Miliband won't set the political agenda either. The Labour Party will. You could also say that being a politician is a thankless task, being hated by the media. Tony Blair targeted middle england and won an election. With Ed Milliband selecting who he has for his shadow cabinet. That gives some idea which way he wants to go. jake4jack200
How also do people think Alan Johnston will approach the defficit? In the same way as every Labour Chancellor ............... he will keep racking up the national debt . But i wouldn`t worry , , being part of an unelectable party as he is , he will never have the chance to bankrupt us .
