lilypiglet Posted October 9, 2010 Share Posted October 9, 2010 Yup, it's stew night tonight.....got a piece little piece of top-side left in the freezer, too small for a roast, so it's getting chopped up with some carrots and turnip, bang it in the oven for a slow stew, wood burners roaring away, dogs and OH curled up asleep snuggling on settee, glass of red wine, watching the Commonwealth games, have already got my jammy's on, will have a soak in the bath while stew cooks, can't wait for that gorgeous smell to waft thro' from the kitchen....what a blissful afternoon...S**t, NO BLOODY HENDO'S...arrrrghhh..... She drains some of the gravy into a large casserole dish, puts the dumplings in so they are not submerged and does them in the oven. They come out all crusty on the top. They are reeaaally good !
