I must say that living on the manor you are all being to hard on it,

How many people who have voted actually live or visit people on here? When people dont know the area they tend to make up there minds from the local paper and hear say.

Personally i feel there is plenty of places a lot worse than the manor but thats just my opinion!

Just been reading the other post's and i find most people very ignorant,

I have seen things like Scruffs,Unemployed, thiefs, yobs among other things and i would just like to mention this (to20 please read ).

And the last moron who mentioned envy?

I was born outside of sheffield and came to sheffield when i was very young and moved to Norfolk park which at the time was supposed to be rough with all the vile tower blocks everywhere but we never had any problems at all, i had friends and family that lived just up the road on the Manor and to be honest we knocked about up there most of the time. In time i moved to a place called Biddulph Moor near Stoke On Trent after meeting my wife and it was a nice little village where you never really saw a lot of people unless u went into town, anyway my heart had always been in Sheffield and i talked my wife into moving to sheffield, we looked about for somewhere to buy and after looking all over Sheffield, Bakewell and Buxton with my wife i made up some excuse and played on the fact i wanted to go back to where i was brought up, We had a very big budget due the fact of the previous sale but i spotted some Brand new houses being built on Fairleigh ( Manor ) they were cheap and just being built and perfect for me and we bought 1 for a nice £46,000 "bargain".

Both me and my wife have very good jobs and have always worked and yes we are very secure financially we have 2 new cars got married in Australia and we are moving to melbourne next year to live and i for one will be very sad to leave Sheffield and the Manor and should i ever come back i will once again move to the manor because my wife loves it i love it and we enjoy the community spirit here.

So there u have it not every one should be judged on what area u live in because i can tell you all for a fact that although the manor may have some things wrong with it the one thing it certainly does not have and thats the debt of individuals that live in the so called "posh and nice area's".

How many people have put Manor down cos they've heard it's the 'worst estate in Britain'? That's not on.

You're far more likely to have a dangerous encounter in Burngreave or Pitsmoor...

I've sampled the delights of living in all of these places. Actually, during my 'desperate domiciles' stage, I preferred Manor to the others. :P

i agree with you, it is all hearsay, i have lived on windyhouse lane and ours was the last standing house. i would gladly move back up there again. [if my circumstances were different, i as dont want to have to change the doctors and dentists again.] we have moved from the manor to darnall, and in my eyes darnall is twice as bad as the manor. but then again name a place which is a good place, darnall is now the same as pitsmoor, burngreave, firvale, pagehall, firthpark, abbydale road [up to the picture house] netheredge, woodthorpe and a few others. there is no english grocer on darnall [not a green grocer]

Some people may like living on the Manor. Dung beatles are rather fond of dung, but it doesn't appeal to most.

Come back when you are paying some tax and your b***s have dropped.

Now now, don't throw your teddies out of the cot. We're all entitled to express our thoughts, though preferably in a reasonably controlled fashion, not stooping to personal insult (usually the sign of the intellectually challenged who can't deal with views that conflict with their own). By the way my friend, I expect I pay more in tax than you gross :hihi: .
