Norseman
I think you need a few more candidates such as Dore, Fulwood, Ecclesall, Totley. These areas always strike me as soul-less with a large proportion of their population consisting of people who look down on other areas of the city. There is a good case for transferring these areas out of Sheffield. IMHO, that is. Well thats ok coming from a left wing socialist worker type isn't it! If it were up to you we'd have Joseph Stalin mark 2 in charge! As it happens I was brought up in Totley and grew up around generally nice people - Point to note: Not everyone who lives in these areas is soul-less as you put it, most have worked hard all their lives to live there as opposed to voicing political left wing views and selling the socialist worker on street corners without actually contributing to society in any positive way other than to cause trouble. Dore and Totley have council estates just like most other areas however you left wing socialist worker types just can't see the wood for the trees can you? Totley has a large number of elderly residents these days and only the new estate where the Poly used to be can claim to have odd people in it, but then again why shouldn't they live there they've earned the right to better themselves! its just a shame you haven't done the same and are obviously jealous of the success people have made with their lives. Also as it happens I never wished to live in Totley, nice area just too far out in the sticks for my liking and I do enjoy where I live now which is much closer to the city centre. You get good and bad people in all areas and the sooner you remove the chipshop off that extremely large shoulder of yours the better it will be for all concerned. Even better try employment where you add to the economy instead of whiging about it! Nothing nasty here just pure common sense:)
Norseman
Dore - I live there once, everyone loved themselves I think you're right about Dore, I used to attend King Ecgberts many years ago and a few of my friends lived up there in the village. A few had some really stuck up neighbours. Blackamoor Road comes to mind here.....
Norseman
What criteria are we using here? How many guns per household? How many family members with asbos? The number of chavs per square mile? if its a combined total then its got to be Rotherham!!
addylewis
Dore - I live there once, everyone loved themselves I don't live there, but I'd rather live there so long as they didn't threaten everyone else for not bring THEM who they love so much lol... I'm not sure - norfolk park, manor, pitsmoor, burngreave, darnall, shiregreen...I just don't know and don't really wanna say because no doubt SOMEONE on here would tell me off! Random Shout
Manor covers a very large area: 1. Manor Park 2. Manor Top 3. Lower Manor. There is also Fairleigh which a lot of people class it as Manor (between Manor Top and Lower Manor). There are bad parts all around 'Manor' I would have to say though that Arborthorne, Woodthorpe, Flower Estate at Firth Park, Wensley Estate (Page Hall / Grimesthorpe area), Winn Gardens estate off Middlewood Road and parts of Gleadless Valley / Newfield Green and Darnall have all got worse names than the above, top part of Pitsmoor isn't as bad as what people say it is, but the bottom end of Pitsmoor Burngreave area and around Spital Hill is one of the worst. Tradescanthia
Hallam constituency is the richest area outside of London. THATS OFFICIAL, by the way. This tells me that more criminals live there than in Manor, Parson Cross etc. The sort of money these snotty nosed types have cannot be earned by honest means. They are not very bright either, they elected Nick Clegg................
Stuart82
Think a new poll should be started been as though this is from 9yrs ago and I think things have changed for all areas.
hello1964
Comments about the Storrs are interesting. When I was there 1977 til 80, we had the Greystones youth alongside inner city kids from Havelock Square and Broomhall. What a contrast that was.
