Vague_Boy
Killing pigeons just makes the problem worse, it increases the available food supply for those left and they breed more offspring. Before long, the problem returns, worse than before. The way to control pigeon populations is to control the food supply. Anti-roosting spikes are good but not suited to large areas like roofs. Ultrasonic deterrents might do the trick, but aren't cheap.

AJ sheffield
Not much chance of killing a pigeon with an air pistol. - The feathers on the chest will stop the pellet. You could try putting a large plastic owl, or a snake or cat on the roof - if you can find one. Ant-perching spikes might be an idea - though it may be a bit late in the year to make that worthwhile. Yeah but there is no fun in that.
nikita
Or you could stop whinging and think yourself lucky its just pigeons on your roof and not a tsunami. If thats all you have to moan about lucky you.
Space
Can't you buy snares that chop their filthy disease riddled legs off? - I think you can get them for pigeons too..
