I need to take a potential date to restaurant tomorrow evening and he is a vegeterian, could you advise on which places do some nice veggie food? Being a carnivorous i would not know! Disco_Cat
Try the Blue Moon Cafe near the Cathedral or the Olive tree Cafe near the Winter Gardens, but you really should go out of the town centre to Kumquat Mae.
Tartempion
I like Blue Moon Cafe next to the Cathedral. It's more of a cafe than a restaurant though. Depends what you're after I guess... It's kind of a light, airy, high ceilingy place - probably more of a daytime place than evening although I've never been at night. They serve alcohol and they're open in the evening though. The food's great anyway - really nice home made hearty but healthy stuff. Can't think of anywhere else. Sorry.

NUCAD
My partner is veggie and we drive kumquat almost everyday and she always says 'i wonder what they are like' Can the food and service be recommended and if so what did you have ? Thanks in anticipation
lomaxkinesis
Kumquat Mae is excellent, the service is lovely the menu is not huge, but covers all tastes, I would not suggest what to have, as we all have different tastes. I had the aubergene parmiaini I think thats what it was called and I really enjoyed it.
NUCAD
One added complication is my partner doesnot eat mushrooms so how much would that remove from the menu ?. Its her B'day tomorrow and although we are already going out with family i would like to arrange for next week or one evening.
lomaxkinesis
I am pretty certain that the selction is wide enought to enable msuhrooms to not be on the plate. If there is problems I am sure you could just ask the chef to leave the mushrooms out.
