eightlegger
ALF OLIVER,the butcher was my mothers uncle, and his shop was at the bottom of STANIFORTH RD at ATTERCLIFFE RD.My used to take us there on saturdays to pick up the sunday joint, bacon, etc.if it was availiable. My brother and me used to go in the back, and watch an old gentleman(arthur), making rows and rows of sausages. It was like majic to two young nippers. We quite frequently visited UNCLE ALFand his wife AUNTY NELLIE at their home up at HANDSWORTH.halcyon days.eightlegger.
