claire1976
....anyone been? My son is really into dinosaurs, fossils and ancient history. I was going to take him to London as the museum there is fab but the trains are too expensive during half term. Someone mentioned the one in Manchester and I had a quick look at website - seems OK, just wondered if anyone had been and if it was worth the trip? cgksheff
You can get Sheffield London Return £38 on Wed 27th. Is that still too much? You don't say how old your son is, but the museum at Manchester definitely has enough to keep most boys occupied for several visits.
claire1976
It is for 3 of us - I need my OH to come with us as I will be 35 weeks pregnant and don't feel comfortable going all that way on my own. Also, he is only off work on the mon/tues of half term.
alchresearch
Just be aware they're refurbishing the ground floor so all the cool larger animals in the cases have been packed away for the duration. The dinosaur bit is still open though, and the upper sections are still open. Couple it with a visit to the science museum and you'll have a great day.
