sedith
Has anyone seen a TV Licence Detector Van or is their existence an urban myth? If so, why do we bother buying a licence?

fox20thc
Their database lists everyone who has paid. Every address which hasn't is suspected of watching and not paying. They just do random hits on the houses with no license and hope to get lucky. Somebody I know doesn't own a tv and has been visited three times by TV licensing to check they really don't own one. Meaks
They don't exist, they can't detect if you have a TV, and the whole thing is run by Capita.
Mondeo Man
I don't know if they exist, but I do know nobody's ever been convicted, on detector evidence.

They have visited me twice in under 50 days, same guy. Ask me who I am and if I have a license. I say No and shut the door.
Mondeo Man
They have visited me twice in under 50 days, same guy. 3 visits in 3 months. I wasn't in for any of them Ask me who I am and if I have a license. I say No and shut the door. Best advice is:- Don't open the door. Don't speak to them. Don't admit or deny anything. And above all, DON'T SIGN ANYTHING!
