TV Licence Detector Vans - Urban Myth?

Recommended Posts

Their database lists everyone who has paid. Every address which hasn't is suspected of watching and not paying. They just do random hits on the houses with no license and hope to get lucky.

Somebody I know doesn't own a tv and has been visited three times by TV licensing to check they really don't own one.

They have visited me twice in under 50 days, same guy. Ask me who I am and if I have a license. I say No and shut the door.

3 visits in 3 months. I wasn't in for any of them

Ask me who I am and if I have a license. I say No and shut the door.

Best advice is:-

Don't open the door.

Don't speak to them.

Don't admit or deny anything.

And above all,

DON'T SIGN ANYTHING!
