spudgun
Mum was asking me to find out if you could still buy "Ricketts blue bags". Never heard of them, never mind buy them. Anyone know what they were?
hillsbro
Hi spudgun - I haven't seen them for donkey's years and I don't know if anyone still makes such things (seems doubtful) but you can buy them here for example..
Puffin4
They were used to whiten your washing; you stuck one in with the whites, ie bedding etc. They were also quite an effective antidote for wasp stings etc. I last saw them when I lived at home with my folks in Sheffield; I left in 1959. Anyone know what they were? I remember Recketts Blue manufactured in Hull, they were eventually bought out by Smith & Nephew in the sixties.
