How does it compare to a chain like La Tasca? We've never really explored London Road much, I hear there's some nice places down there - what do people recommend? The menu is not huge but everything on it was delicious (I know because we ordered every dish on it! There was 5 of us!) Service was a bit slow as there was only one waitress and the place was full - I felt sorry for her as she was clearly doing her best. I guess La Tasca probably has a more extensive menu, but I think El Toro is good quality and it's nice to see a small independent trying hard. As for London Road, my favourite places down there are Wasabisabi (especially the teppanyaki - but not sure if I'd choose it for an anniversary, it's loud and fun but not romantic), Thai Punna and Dim Sum.
