wednesday1
I need a quick cheap remedy to get rid of paint fumes, the temporary house we have moved into reeks of paint/gloss, really getting on my chest, have asthma and other allergies. Tried bowls of vinegar, opening all windows but its bloody cold out there. Any suggestions? A painter decorator friend suggested a chopped onion absorbs the fumes. I have tried it and it does seem to work, also a couple of buckets of water is supposed to absorb the fumes.

artisan
I think really you just have to wait for the paint to set. I dont what the fumes are but they give me the headache something cruel. I will ask our painters on monday, if any short term cure, but it will be alright by then I would think.

artisan
it's actually an onion chopped in half in a bowl of water add carrots, potatoes and some meat, simmer for two hours, and the smell of the stew will mask the paint odour, and you will have a nice supper.
