I passed my test in 1988 and drove my mum's company car intermittently whilst at uni and my first proper car was my first company car which I got the week after graduation. If you lifted the carpet, between the door and the seat, you could see the inside of the outer sill. It came with an 8 months MOT, and no way on earth was that ticket was legit. mike-s Posted October 20, 2010 Share Posted October 20, 2010 learned to drive in 1975 in instructors Mk 1 1300E escort then passed test in my own Hillman Imp, kept this for about a year then bought a Cortina Mk 2 1600E, cracking car, GT engine and Lotus suspension as standard, loved it, even remember the reg - LAK 7G.
