KenH
I don't think it is hard at all. When they are toddlers they couldn't care less about expensive stuff, and are just as happy with going on the swings and slides as anything else. What you probably want is somewhere where they can play while you can sit in the warm.

martss
Go to a park, let them run around & play as much as they can, maybe take a ball or two.

Anna B
The best thing you can give them is your time. It doesn't matter much what you do as long as long as they can share it with you. Baking, crafts, making scrap models, collages and pictures, simple card games and board games, reading to them, sharing a video, games like hide and seek, parlour games, nature walk, worm charming, dressing up and fantasy games, den building (garden, under the stairs, even under a table,) treasure hunts, cheap trips out to swimming baths, museums, art galleries, libraries, (while we still have them,) just to name a few. Loads of books in the library will give you more ideas. It's hard work, but I promise you, you'll never have more fun.
