We give millions to Africa as aid, can you ever see them helping themselves to improve ?.

£Billions upon £Billions has been poured into Africa over the last 50+ years with little or nothing to show for in most cases.

and all the other rich countries are in a similer debt? and we're still far far richer than the countries we're giving aid to?

According to a recent comment by the chancellor we're on the verge of bankruptcy.

Charity begins at home!

bassman in "Doesn't understand the issue" shock.

I fully understand that we're cutting benefits to our own vulnerable and needy but still sending massive amounts abroad.

What is it that you constantly want decent British people to be branded racist just because they object to their money being sent abroad, money that is being slashed from their benefits/allownces fundings.

No we're not.

Current government debt interest payments are £42 billion pa (that is too much - we can't go on increasing it and we need to reduce it). Government spending is £690 billion pa.

How many here spend less than 10% of their income / benefits on mortgage / rent / credit card bills?

Obviously you're better informed than the chancellor.
