HeadingNorth
What is he actually getting, ive heard alsorts of fiigures being banded about. The reports say a basic salary of about £150,000 a week, which could rise as high as £250,000 a week given various bonuses. How accurate the reports are, is hard to tell. nosy nellie
I blame the idiots that pay good money to go and watch him. Overpaid, Oversexed, and Overated. I know I will get blasted for this one but everyone is moaning that money is tight these days but how much is it to watch spoiled brats like Rooney and I am surprised at Ferguson I thought he was tougher than to let a player dictate to him. Right fire away.lol. P.S I have not watched a football match for years,John Charles was my favourite so you can tell how long ago that is.

If I were a Man U fan, and they put season ticket prices up again next year, I wouldn't go. Whilst everyone else is being squeezed left right and centre, football clubs should be trying to bring prices DOWN to encourage the next generation of fans, not put them up to levels that make them a sacrificable luxury. I don't know when this will happen, but surely it will, if the players and their agents continue to demend - and receive - these huge wages. Cynic
I am surprised that Fergie fell this blatant blackmail scam. Rooney's present form warrants drop in pay. Fergie was the one playing clever here. We don't know what figure Rooney is actually getting but I bet it is lower than the one quoted in the press and that will be partly Ferguson's doing. By stating in public that Rooney wanted to leave it forced Rooney to act quickly. It was no doubt his agent causing the fuss and saying things to try get more cash for his player. Fergie played it very well and probably got the club a better deal.
