Gordonb
What point are you trying to make? This happened in the past and still happens at every game on a average weekend. Go into any pub within 10 minutes walk of Hillsborough (crown, park, railway, white horse, masons, travellers) on a Saturday afternoon and you'll find loads of supporters still in there with kick-off looming. And what do you think might happen if there were a few forged tickets around and The Owls were lucky enough to have a sell out crowd.

The forged tickets piece is a red herring as well. The HSE report concluded that the number of Liverpool supporters on the entire Leppings Lane Terrace did not exceed the number of tickets issued. The fact was that the central pens were way overcrowded and the pens to the sides were sparsely populated.
Davekowl
I was at home watching tv when the news of the disaster started to filter through but I could so easily have been in the middle of it all. A workmate of mine was a chief steward at the Leppings Lane end of the ground and he had asked me the day before if I wanted a job as a steward for the game (things were much more lax then than today where stewards have to be fully trained). I turned it down because myself and my wife were going out that evening and I feared that it would make us late. If it wasn't for that I would have witnessed the tragedy first hand. jane2008
I was at my Mum's house settled down to watch the match. We'd had a good morning shopping in town, bumping into Len Ganley, snooker referee. On the way back we saw loads of supporters, don't know if they were Liverpool or Forest, outside the Dev on Herries Road. As a football supporter myself, it just stunned me. Unbelievable, a football match turning into a tragedy. We saw the match abandoned and listened to the emergency services sirens going past Mums house. Utterly horrible. pennypie
I was sat in my house, across the river from the wednesday ground, watching the ambulances etc speeding into the ground through the window, while watching the goings on on the tv. I must have been about 7 or 8 but its one of my strongest memories!!

Go into any pub within 10 minutes walk of Hillsborough (crown, park, railway, white horse, masons, travellers) on a Saturday afternoon and you'll find loads of supporters still in there with kick-off looming. The kick off was delayed as there had been a traffic delay on the M62, hence MANY fans arriving late to the ground I was in front of the telly in Doncaster, but two of my uncles, and their mates who used to babysit us as kids, were inside the ground. It's shocking to watch such a disaster unfolding, but when you're squinting at the faces hoping and hoping not to see what you're looking for... *_ash_*
Where were you? What were you doing? Who originally told you? How did you feel at the time? What did you do? Who did you tell? What was your opinion at the time, and when did this change? Why do you know the answers to all of these, and it's still vivid? - All but the last question have been answered by most posters. Why can I can not remember yesterday, but can answer the first 7 questions without a seconds thought.
