brocco
DrownedinSound presents: BROKEN RECORDS http://www.myspace.com/brokenrecordsedinburgh Broken Records formed in 2007 in Edinburgh, Scotland. The seven members use their different musical backgrounds and a wide variety of instrumentation to compliment the eclectic sound they create. In May 2010 the band completed their second album, Let Me Come Home, recorded in Glasgow with producer Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Delgados, Belle & Sebastian) and is due for release on 4AD in the UK and Europe on October 25th, 2010. A new single, 'A Darkness Rises Up' will be released prior to the album October 18th, 2010. In August the band also announced the move from being a seven-piece to a six-piece for live touring with the departure of Arne and Gill, and the introduction of new member, Craig Ross taking up bass and guitar duties. LAURA J MARTIN http://www.myspace.com/lalajmartin "As ethereal and otherworldly as Bat For Lashes ... her haunting musical tales remind me of listening to a young Kate Bush [and] her ability to take a pastoral folk sound and twist an electro beat around it puts me in mind of the great Alison Goldfrapp." - Amelia's Magazine LARSEN B http://www.myspace.com/wearelarsenb "Larsen B's cracked balladry demonstrates an unwavering ability to cut to the quick of a melody." – Drowned in Sound @ The Harley, 334 Glossop Road, Sheffield, S10 2HW Doors: 8pm Age restrictions: 18+ Price: £6 Adv / MOTD Telephone: 0114 275 2288 TICKET OUTLETS SeeTickets - http://www.seetickets.com/Event/BROKEN-RECORDS/The-Harley/504482 WeGotTickets - http://www.wegottickets.com/event/94107 Arcade - Division Street, Sheffield The Harley - Glossop Road, Sheffield The Wick At Both Ends - West Street, Sheffield
