mosaic
Hi, Invasion might be a bit of an ott way to put it, but every morning I see lots of slug trails all over the kitchen floor. It's not the first time I step on one while barefoot (nice) and I just don't know what I can do to stop them! They come through the door which leads onto the garden, in case this is relevant. Please help...
Darth Vader
Yes, it's relevant. Put some sharp gravel, or egg shells, anything sharp, in front of your door. Snails will find this unbearable to cross over.

HarrietStar
I had the same thing, I went downstairs one night barefoot and stepped on a slug, absolutely revolting, really sticky and horrible to clean Since then, nothing, but I might try the gravel as a preventative measure! Berberis
They are probably coming in an air-brick. Make sure there is not lots of slug friendly stuff piled up against it and this should reduce their number.
milquetoast1
We get this on occasion too, in fact I had to throw one outside last night. On doing an online search a while ago, it seems that many people find them in their kitchens and bathrooms, but expert opinion seemed to shed doubt on the idea that they actually came from outside and were actually living in our houses. Yuck - I think that's true. I've come across the occasional very pale slug in my kitchen, I don't know where they're living - probably under one of the cupboards. Mandem
I quite often get this too, they seem to come from under the washing machine, perhaps they like the damp and dark. I got up one morning, and there was one half way up the kitchen window. I was nearly sick, as I can't stand them, and just thinking about them brings me out in goose bumps. Treatment
If you stick saucers with beer in some distance awy from the entrance the slugs will go for them. Slugs love beer (seriously), then you can finish them off with some common salt.
Rupert_Baehr
If you put down lager instead of beer, you may save the cost of the salt.
