missymoo73
So does this mean we are going to become a country of couch potatoes, the government are now moaning about people being obese, probably cause there staying in all the time and not getting the excersize they need. I don't think thats the case at all. Drinking at home as opposed to drinking at a pub doesnt make you obese and a couch potato

We could do. It's human nature to make your environment a comfortable one. Bill Gates predicted this years ago. Obviously you will have the ones who go against the trend but the trend currently is that people are prepared to spend on home entertainment rather than have a holiday. Like Jeremy Clarkson once said, there are the cave dwellers and the adventurers. Most of us are happy to sit in our cave.
SnailyBoy
So they found something to protect empolyees but didnt think about protecting the people who smoke. Wonder why that is, maybe its because it earns the government billions each year, i think they would soon start changing there mind about protecting employees if people stopped buying them from the UK for instance as a matter of protest. It's one of the most two faced things the government has ever introduced and that is saying something considering some of the things they have been up to in recent times. LOl.....are you serious? Nobody is forced to smoke, it's a choice. I, like millions of other chose to drive, pay tax that earns the Governement billions, but have to obey the laws set by........you guessed it.....the Government. So are driving laws two faced? unuspromulti
What are the stats for places of this kind since the smoking ban came into play. We're currently at 38 a week after getting up to 52 at the height of the recession.
Tony Erikson
I have to say my friends say that they smoke more when they are socializing than they do normally - very strange. Hope you find the will power soon I know its hard (used to smoke when i was younger coz i thought it looked good ) I stopped for a year once. Gutted that I thought one wouldn't hurt. If I could go back to my younger self when having that first fag I would give myself such a thrashing.

It would get boring. Drinking in the house can if you aks me make you order takeaways and make you smoke more as you dont have the misfortune of mooching outside for your fag, so is it really a good thing staying in? Chrisoon
Isn't there dozens of pubs shutting down every week? Sure there are people trying to open up new pubs but there are far too many shutting down all the time to possibly hope of keeping up with the collapse of so many...
