Texas
I came across the name Truswell the other day. Not in the context of brewing, but it reminded me that there was once a Truswell's brewery in Sheffield a long time ago. I can't ever remember drinking Truswell's beer myself so it must've been a while back. Anybody else on here remember the brewery, the beer, where it was, which pubs they had etc;etc? phantom309
I can remember "Truswells" I have a feeling they made "Barley Wine" and a beer called "Queens" it was a light amber and I think Whitbreads took them over or was that Tennants
stpetre
I came across the name Truswell the other day. Not in the context of brewing, but it reminded me that there was once a Truswell's brewery in Sheffield a long time ago. I can't ever remember drinking Truswell's beer myself so it must've been a while back. Anybody else on here remember the brewery, the beer, where it was, which pubs they had etc;etc? I saw an old photo (1957) of the 'Norfolk Arms' at the bottom of Dixon Lane and outside it said 'Truswell Ales' and a sign saying 'Jubilee Stout' which was then brewed by Hope and Anchor Breweries -later Bass Charrington- so I suppose it was they who took over Truswell's . Any one know more about 'Truswell's' ?
