Tony Erikson
Just heard that some councils are trialling charging residents £10 per month for wardens to patrol the streets. Would you pay for a service that in essence you have already paid for to the police? Is this secretly the introduction of private law enforcement which would ultimately only protect those that paid? What if my house didn't pay? Would the warden only patrol the other houses and quickly run past where I live?
the_rudeboy
I wonder if they close their eyes when they go past your house if you choose not to pay for the service?
Rupert_Baehr
Who said anything about law enforcement? In Calabria, there are two kinds of house insurance. There are the premiums you pay to an insurance company so that your house will be rebuilt in the event that it should burn down. And there are the other premiums you pay to ensure that it doesn't burn down in the first place. Yuu might want to start putting a bit aside now to pay for the additional peace of mind.
