David cameron u-turn denies britain eu referendum

Recommended Posts

These are austere times, we shouldn't waste millions of ££££ on a referendum that nobody will be bothered about, even fewer will understand, and isn't needed.

These are austere times, we shouldn't waste hundreds of millions of pounds on an organisation (the EU) that hasn't had its accounts signed and cleared for 15 years.

The cowardly David Cameron rewards EU waste and fraud with £450 million of taxpayers money.

Significantly less than it would have been, if it were not for DC.

This does seem like a colossal waste of money, at a time when if we have to make cuts, the EU shouldn't be exempted.

I'm generally pro European so I find it a shame that it's own greed is giving it such a bad name. It does look pretty weak from Cameron.

Yes, Cameron lead the call for the UK to contribute an extra £450 million a year to the EU.

Cameron lead the call to increase our budget deficit by £450 million.

No he did not, he argued the EU should stick to the figure they had already discussed before this government came to power. Germany and other nations wanted a 6% increase, but Cameron talked them out of it.

We could not get out of this increase as we could not veto.

A strong leader would have been able to stand up to the EU. David Cameron is simply a weaker version of Ted Heath, with less than half of that man's charisma.

But he cant, we do not have a veto on this. We have to go with what is voted for and Cameron lead the call for the rate agreed.

Of course we can - no don't need to mess about with vetoes.

The man who pays the piper calls the tune - we hand over the same amount and tell them that's all they're getting.

If they get shirty, tell them we'll pull out.

I think we are getting to the crux of this here, you're just unhappy with Cameron and using this as a stick to beat him.

The oldest trick ever in politics - tell us how much something's going to cost us, then charge us half that amount.

They then think, that we believe they've just saved us something.

No! - we're a bit brighter than that.
