Pipsqwark
If i buy my own frames and have an eye test done can i get my lens put in my own frame or do i have to buy the frames from them? I already have 2 pairs of glasses but i have seen some designer frames that are much much cheaper than in the opticians and i am due to have another eye test soon. Plain Talker
At almost every optician, you'll probably be charged a minimum of about £40 per frame to have the old frames re-glazed.
Cenobite
Boots/Dollond & Aitchison at Peaks told me my designer frames were too old to put new lenses in, yet they still had the same frames that I wanted new lenses in and bought from them on their racks. Probably on commission to sell new frames and they are more expensive than most places too.

Yours could be quite old compared to the ones on display. The plastic may not be stable enough to stand the heating up and cooling down processes that are involved in reglazing the frames. If you go to somewhere like Specsavers, and buy their glasses, it's only like paying for the lenses and getting a frame free. It's quite worth it, when you look at their 2-for-1 offers.
