Stan the (Nutter) Bus driving

I remember Pond St Nora, but didnt see her much

We had Stan the Nutter Bus driver

He was a huge ginger bloke with a few sandwiches short of a picnic that used to catch the 52 bus at darnall to go up Handsworth, he would always go upstairs and try and drive the bus, shouting a lot each bit of the way.

 

He once had a dog lead with no dog, he was hilarious

(I think someone picked up on this lead and sold them as invisible dogs?)

Stan lives round the corner from me. I recall him driving the 52 from town and getting on the bus one night, sitting next to a poor girl and plonking his arm around her for the entire journey home.

Im surprised he is still alive, he must have been about 30is when I was a kid back in 75/76

 

What does he do, and what was his condition, does he still try and drive buses or walk the invisible dog, or does he have new skills?

He's the one. I think he always looked older than he was. Reckon he's about 50 something now. Still looks pretty much the same. He hangs around and talks to neighbours. I think his bus driving days are over.
