Berberis
And several good reasons lie behind that, chief among them that they are children, and not mature enough to be granted a say. What are the reasons for not allowing prisoners to vote? Deprivation of liberty doesn't automatically deprivation of all rights. And adults who commit crimes are obviously not mature enough either. Conrod
Also Stefan Klishko, convicted of murder and rape but after 16 years proven beyond any doubt to be innocent. We could go on and on but one fact about them all is they were not allowed to vote. Sure, and we could also remind ourselves that they are statistically irrelevant tiny minorities. chem1st
In a civilised society prisoners should have the right to vote. Murderers, rapist, thieves, people not paying council tax or the tv license, the lot of them! Ask yourself this, have you ever been late with the council tax? By a few pence for a minute, maybe you forgot about it and had intention to pay. If you answer yes, you ARE a CRIMINAL worthy of JAIL. Should you have the right to vote? chem1st
Is that because you say so? As time progresses laws change. At times it has been perfectly legal for an adult man to have sex with men women and children. At other times it has been illegal for them to have sex with men and children. Suppose it becomes illegal for man to have sex with women, and such men are refused the vote... Fair, civilised?
Treatment
I don't know the details - nor care, as you're taking the thread off topic for no reason. It is not off topic. Just because people have been 'fitted up' does not mean that they should be deprived of their vote. Better to deprive those who fitted them up of their vote. Alien
Is that because you say so? Of course because he said so...he wasn't asking a question it was a statement, I guess based on an opinion, otherwise you wouldn't have read it because he wouldn't have typed it. You could try arguing why he shouldn't have that opinion rather than flippantly brushing it aside.

He was the one flippantly brushing the opposing view aside. Thats why I wrote that!
