Dealing with nerves?

What helps for me in situations where I know I'm going to be pretty anxious is to pretend as if I'm confident and not bothered by anxiety.

I know that probably sounds weird but my own experience tells me that if I focus on all my body's reactions to anxiety (racing heart rate etc) then I just feel even worse. So I try to ignore what my body is telling me and assume the role of confident person & that usually helps
