jongo
Don't expect a response to such a question from Malky! Yep, looks like the question was far too difficult for any of them.
Fareast
I would guess, Bonzo77, that meter-readers, beer-delivery personnel and VAT inspectors dropped dead in their millions when smoking was allowed in pubs-----there must have been a huge cover-up somewhere !! Please, don 't tempt fate with your remark about smoking in the house ! That 'll probably be on its way soon enough in the U.K. { United Kindergarden }. That will be followed by having to keep a record of how many times a day you have to go to the lavatory and why and for how long ; how many times a week [ or day ! ] you have a bit of nookie.........and a Daily Food Consumption Form [ in triplicate ]. rubydazzler
So conversely an employer should be able choose to employ non-smokers only? Can I answer that? Yes. Employers should be free to employ whoever they want to employ, especially in small businesses where it's important that people get along together. Why not? ricgem2002
i beleive its now council policy that if your having a work man round to do work in your house you must not have smoked for 30 min before he turns up .

Which isn't as easy as it sounds cause half the time they turn up whenever they want, and more often than not, they don't turn up at all
foxy lady
Yep, looks like the question was far too difficult for any of them. Or they were too busy having a pint inside a nice warm pub.

puisseguin
but is it right that the council can dictate to its tenants what they can do in their own homes ? Apparently some councils also object to tennants playing loud music at 3 am, ripping the plaster from the walls and keeping chickens in the living room. Where's it all going to end?
