jazzamatazz
one of my faves--he's bloody ACE!! Wednesday 17th November Ian's driving bottleneck guitar style and classic blues voice has won him a lot of fans worldwide. One of the finest blues voices this side of the Atlantic, Ian was dubbed by Mojo magazine as 'the cleverest writer and most magnetic performer of blues currently working in the UK'. An enigmatic delivery of the blues. Without doubt the most talented musician to emerge from Britain on to the European blues scene in years, he doesn't just perform the blues, he is possessed by them. This show welcomes the remarkable One-Man-Band, BEN PRESTAGE from Florida to The Boardwalk. It will be a unique and memorable show - one of the world's finest solo blues artists (for impassioned vocals many would argue THE best), together with the singular talent that is Ben Prestage, making his first tour of the UK. Now, if you think this is going to be an evening of subdued acoustic blues, think again! Ben Prestage really is a one-man-band. He gets audiences dancing. Ian's profile and popularity preceed him; however you may not know of Ben Prestage. Born the grandson of a Mississippi sharecropper, Ben Prestage has been soaked in Blues tradition and Mississippi culture since birth. Growing up in the swamps of south central Florida, Prestage began to mix Mississippi Country Blues with his own brand of Florida Swamp Blues. He tours nationally in the USA, and in 2008 was second place in the Blues Foundation's International Blues Challenge. The following three-minute docu-video gives you an insight to his music.
