KarinH
Have you lost your job recently and been forced to stay at home while you´re wife/fiancee are working? Did you use to be the breadwinner, but you`re not any longer? What´s it like? How does people around you react? Care to discuss? Karin

I have all day to watch porn and smoke weed while the bitch slaves away bringing me home my beer money. Sweet.

nicksix
I made that switch recently.. turned out if she went back full time she was on a lot more than me... Its great though, now do about 6 hours a day as a freelance optimiser and get to spend more time with the kids. I think now days people don't react to it at all as it is a lot more common. Number Six
We both work part time. I get 2 days a week with the kid. No-one bats an eyelid at me specifically. My wife and I both find that people give you funny looks if you actually talk to your child though - we both have a sort of ongoing dialogue with her even though she's too little to talk herself, and a lot of people seem a bit bemused by it. I also find that old ladies are more likely to try and talk to our daughter when she is with me than my wife does. A woman of about 80 tried to hold her hand last week, having just ruffled her hair. She was having none of it - she put her hand in her pocket :-)
Suffragette1
My husband would love to stay at home, however, his profession commands a far higher salary than mine, so he works full-time and I work part-time.
vwkittie
Wasn't a big deal 25 years ago when my dad stayed home (he got made redundant) and my mum went to work 6 weeks after having me, can't see it being a big deal now to be honest. Don't think it matter who stays home really, horses for courses isn't it.
KarinH
Apparently more men than women have lost their jobs due to the recession, it´s true for the UK, US, and Europe in general. I`ve even heard the expression "mancession". How easy is it to change roles, what happends to the relation? Is it something one dares to tell the neighbours, relatives?
