Prospective
Actually, it's 100% factual. Just because you think it means more, doesn't mean it does. Are you sure about that (bearing in mind that there were just over 26,000,000 sold last year, nothing like the 50,000,000 you claim). Show us some proof then. Indeed, your post is. Chomping at the bit to attack such an important event in this nation life. You show your cards to willingly. FACT.
sccsux
Chomping at the bit to attack such an important event in this nation life. To some, no doubt; not so, for others. You show your cards to willingly. And what cards would they be, and who's Willingly?
Bruce_Shark
Yes. I wear a poppy as a sign of respect to all those who fought, and in remembrance of the sacrifice so many have made.

You can hardly expect babes in arms/prams toddlers etc to buy poppies. I gave to British legion collectors in Chesterfield without collecting a poppy. You will also see cadets spending their time collecting. I'd say 26,000,000 is a fair representation of the generosity shown.

some guy
I never knew my great-grandfather, but my grandfather told me of horrific injuries he suffered in the Second World War. Injuries which left him crippled for the rest of his life. Injuries which left him unable to care for his only child, my grandfather. That's why I'm wearing a poppy. sccsux
There always the don't care, don't appreciate brigade around. So now I don't appreciate the services? Odd, 'cause the missuses daughter's fiancé is in the Engineers and is going back to Afghanistan after his current tour is over (3rd visit there for him).
