Recommended Posts

Hi there forumers. I'm really hoping no mod's will delete this as im really needing someone to talk to and ask for help at the minute.

My grandads got binswangers disease, A form of dementia, I don't really know much about this disease even though iv looked about 100 Websites.

Has anyone had any family members/ Friends with this disease that could help me and explain it to me?

Thanks in advance. Anna

Basically, it's a form of vascular dememntia.

Vascular dementia means that it's not Alzheimer's that's caused the confusion, it's problems with the brain not geting sufficient blood that's to blame.

Binswangers is caused by a hardening of the arteries in the brain. The hardening means that the blood is not getting round the brain properly.
