SHYTOT
That's different to just cold guessing a pin which is what I thought you were referring to Stop feeding the troll.
HeadingNorth
I was expecting the first letter to be the numerical place in the alphabet That would work as well, but the average person in the street would probably find "number of letters in the word" easier to handle. I'm not sure I can remember how to do modulus arithmetic any more - it's been a long time!
Alcoblog
My pin number's 8632. No one will ever find that out as it's completely random! You'd have to be a total imbecile to stumble upon it!
spooky3
Stop feeding the troll. Your right I live in the Northern mountains of Scandinavia. Good guess! My pin number's 8632. No one will ever find that out as it's completely random! You'd have to be a total imbecile to stumble upon it! I'm not allowed to guess according to SHYTOT
Andy
Someone in my family is distressed as their card has gone missing and cash has been withdrawn from a machine using the pin number - how can this be done?heard of other fraud but this is baffling May I ask a couple of questions? Was the card stolen or did it just go missing? Where did the cash withdrawal take place, relative to where the card went missing from? Did the card come back again or is it still missing? Did they have their PIN written down in their wallet? Had they used the card recently prior to the withdrawal? The two most likely explanations are shoulder surfing or a family member/friend "borrowing" the card.
Alex C.
I always assign a word as my pin. Any 4 letter word will work, and it's usually easier to remember than a string of random numbers.

Alex C.
2 5 3 9 Good guess but no. I don't change the pin (or haven't had to yet) - I'll just find a word that fits the random one they send me. Safer that way.
Amaranthus
Must have used an ATM with one of those fake covers and a pinhole camera to catch the pin number.
MissMonkey
Must have used an ATM with one of those fake covers and a pinhole camera to catch the pin number. If you looked at the ATM close enough would you notice this? I have no idea what they look like?
