Mad Hatter
There's probably someone around who can give me the correct line on this We've finally decided to change ISPs (from AOL to Plusnet), and this also involves changing our landline to Plusnet. However, the advisor on the phone tells me they will need to issue a new landline number. We're not moving house and changing landline number is going to cause lots of hassle. The Plusnet website does say "You can keep your number and we'll handle the switch"... I thought there was landline number portability these days? Can anyone shed any light? Thanks! fruitieness
i thought if you was going to be given a new number its because the previous provider was cancelling the line?

sean344
there talking rubbish, I worked there a few years ago and they can arrange a number port, my advise would be cancel the transfer to plus net and go someone else, the customer service is really poor and apart from being slightly cheaper than most there is nothing good about them
spooky3
A post in the computer section here showed evidence of them giving confidential information away, so i'd say stay away. I'll come back with a link to the evidence...
