Grandad.Malky
Probably taken out of context just as Boris Johnson's 'Kosovo style clearance' comment was. Lots of people have been relatively unaffected by the recession, for those people 'so-called' is possibly fair comment, however unwise it was to say it. There is always a get out of jail card isn’t there.
Boblet
A bit like a victory against free speech! More like a warning not to embarrass your leader Credit where it's due though - Cameron didn't hang around did he!
shutyertrap
Another victory for the left wing media and their hysterical campaign to undermine the coaltion! Why shouldn't a politician be able to express an opinion without being censored?

chem1st
The Boomers' bonanza has left precious little for the rest of us While every generation thinks it has things uniquely bad, today's teenagers have the statistics to back it up. Over the past few decades, young people have been thoroughly ripped off. Those born after Margaret Thatcher's arrival in Downing Street have things unutterably worse than their parents. With houses going so dear, the "jilted generation" are having to spend more of their income on rent than at any time in the past 30 years. And in terms of employment, things aren't much better. Even during the boom years, young people's wages stagnated. Many couldn't even find a stable job in the first place: among those aged between 18 and 24, the jobless rate is nearly one in five.: Expect this figure to rise due to MDRs of nearly 100%. wednesday1
Yes, the real Tory party is all about encouraging people to help themselves rather than sponging off the state. If you had the good sense to take out an affordable mortgage when times were good, you should now be finding that your monthly repayments have dropped significantly. If you read the whole speech rather than just take one sentence out of context and twist it, Lord Young is absolutely correct. It seems likely that Smarmy Dave has told him to say it to try to increase public morale before the cut's kick-in.
Mecky
It seems likely that Smarmy Dave has told him to say it to try to increase public morale before the cut's kick-in. It wouldn't surprise me that's the reason why we're having a wedding next year, Cameron would probably pay for it himself, if it benefitted him personally.
