Nagel
I just want a little bit for a Faraday Motor - http://www.magnet.fsu.edu/education/tutorials/java/faradaymotor/index.html Here you go, this is what I want the mercury for, demonstrated by James Dyson (of vacuum cleaner fame). I have a genuine 19th century one of these an I'm interested to see it work -

purdyamos
Why does mercury make every forumer think of bad things? Because their minds were poisoned... by playing with mercury as kids.

Nagel
Thanks to Freecycle I got some mercury I also tried to advertise on Freegle, but they refused the advert. I tried reasoning with them pointing out that people have mercury they want to get rid of, but they cant. Often they end up pouring it down the drain as you can't take it to a recycling centre. Far better it goes to someone like me who knows the risks and will handle it responsibly, but Freegle didn't see it like that (idiots).
