Sharp87
A mate of mine looks down on my liking for Timothy Taylor's Landlords Bitter, and I thought that I had good taste. landlord is a beer that in my experience varies massively in condition. when on form, landlord is one of the best beers out there, but i've had some shocking pints of it also. RobfromLeeds
Sam Smiths pubs are a joke; their business model to me seems to be one of a continual aquisition of property while making a feeble attempt to run them as a public house. They have no music and seem utterly lacking in atmosphere. Their range of drinks is nothing to write home about.....all own branded stuff, even down to the crisps and nuts. The landlords seemingly have no flexibility to run the pubs according to the area they are in and just have to pump out 'the company mantra' of keeping costs down and the drinks cheap. Some people prefer pubs with no music. Their own branded beers are on the whole excellent, unlike water down p*ss like Carling or Budweiser (and they use a lot more natural ingredients than most breweries). It's also very cheap compared to other pubs. Not sure they do a great deal of pub acquisition - it's Wetherspoons who buy up all the pubs these days. Shef could do with another Sam Smith's pubs in my opinion.
