The euro project - Margaret Thatcher is proven right

If I gave away any personal information, it was in a moment of weakness.

I would never do that.

However, I am an ex Marine Engineer, and have visited the USA more times than you have I would hazard a guess.

But this is not about me, it about what a saddo you are.

Some of your past posts indicate to me that you play fast and loose with the truth.

One of your posts on another thread stated that the only food Americans eat are "hamburgers and strips of beef" That doesn't much sound like someone who has travelled a lot to this side of the pond. In fact it's just a downright ignorant statement by a person who has obviously never been anywhere near these shores.

You might fool some with your claims but you don't fool me. Try this stuff with the young and gullible, not an old fox like me.

When were you last in Sweden?

I always speak the truth.

But what is truth?

Your country has always been obesessed with security, but never good at enforcing it.

Even before the vile murders of 2001, foriegners were subject to strange laws.

Upon arrival on your coasts we had to hand over our British Seamans Cards (an Internationally recognised 'passport' for British Seamen) and be given a piece of crappy paper to say we were 'visitors'.

The very fact we had to have visas to sail our ships into your harbours was insulting, as at that time you had no merchant navy of your own, at least not the like of the firm I worked for.

Never bin there. Wouldn't do me any good to see a Swedish movie either unless it had sub-titles.

You however appear to be a better authority on the subject of Swedish media entertainment judging from a past comment.

The only Swedish films I saw were long ago back in the 1960s sometime. There were two of them called something like I am Blue and I am Yellow, the colours of the Swedish national flag apparently.

They were supposed to be the avant garde of adult movies back then. Turned out they were a load of crappy half baked soft porn and boring as hell.

I got a bigger turn on watching Barbara Windsor shaking her well concealed boobs at Sid James

Hardly enough to get your drawers all in a twist about. I would suggest you save your pent up phobias for something more worthy :hihi:

As a comment in passing, did you know that the Harley was designed and developed in Birmingham in the Black Country?

They must have done something right then. What happened to all the Beezas, Nortons, Triumphs?

Was it that deadly plague Lucas Electrical parts or the same mentality that also nearly brought down the US auto industry in the 70s and 80s, the idea that they owned the market and ignoring those little Jap engineers who could manufacture products that were not only reliable but didn't fall apart either after clocking up 50 thousand miles

I suppose the words Ingmar Bergman don't mean anything to you?

Described by one well known American film maker as

probably the greatest film artist, all things considered, since the invention of the motion picture camera

I've heard of Ingmar Bergman of course and looked him up on Wikipedia. I never saw any of his films and only heard of one of them "Through a glass darkly" Looking at the rest they're either too dated or probably too highbrow (read boring) for my taste.

I'll cast my votes for John Ford, John Huston and of late Steven Spielberg

Sorry Balpin whilst not wishing to be joining your debate with Harley man I read your statement about Harleys being as you say designed and developed in Brum, well according to Wikipedia they were founded in 1903 in Milwaukee Wisconsin and nowhere is there any reference to Birmingham UK and having owned them for a few years now have never heard it said before.Where does your info originate?
