Balpin Posted January 15, 2012 Share Posted January 15, 2012 Sorry Balpin whilst not wishing to be joining your debate with Harley man I read your statement about Harleys being as you say designed and developed in Brum,well according to Wikipedia they were founded in 1903 in Milwaukee Wisconsin and nowhere is there any reference to Birmingham UK and having owned them for a few years now have never heard it said before.Where does your info originate? You were right of course about the origin of Harleys. They went through a bad period when they were bought out by the AMF Company about 40 odd years ago and nearly ended up the same way as Indian Motorcycle Co. After AMF sold Harley the new owners started to retro style them and improve the mechanical reliability which worked out pretty well. You cant argue with Balpin. When he says he's right he's right and of course any comments from the US side of the pond is generally enough to cause him to start frothing at the mouth and chewing on the living room carpet. But they still have to stamp "made in the USA" on the product so it shouldn't fool anyone except those who dont bother to look a little closer The perpetrators should have been extradited to the UK for trial, and punishment if found guilty.
