penistone road junction at morrisons are the lights set in favour of this supermarket sometimes the traffic backsup all the way to shalesmoore but when you get near to morrisons the traffic waiting to come out is 4 or 5 cars the policy seems to be get em in and get em out them on penistone road can wait

My impression is the opposite with traffic backing up to the dog track on that side going into town.If the drivers are all awake at the lights probably 5or 6 cars at the most will cross into Morrisons Long tail backs are because of the much larger number of cars using Penistone Rd than go to Morrisons.

PS that also assumes that outbound traffic actually stops when the lights change.

It is all the idiots trying to get into morrisons at the same time. Rather than wait until the rush is over, they absolutely MUST go as soon as it opens. Traffic backs up out of the filter lane, onto the main carriageway and thats where the problem starts, when people are trying to get round the stationary traffic. Penistone road is a joke.

Instead of sitting in that lane to get into Morrisons - why not continue in the left hand city lane to the next set of traffic lights (old road/monty's) and then come back on the opposite -out of city side of the dual carriage then into Morrisons.
