Royal Mail deliveries in Snow - Sheffield Area

Recommended Posts

just thought i'd lighten the mood with this poem i found on t'internet:

Christmas may be cancelled

The reindeer are on strike

Santa's stuck in Lapland

Forget your brand new bike

Christmas isn't cancelled

Royal Mail saves the day

Postmen playing Santa

Expect that bike mid-May

2 questions

Anyone know a time when there are not long ques at woodseats collection centre?

Are they sending stuff back after a week or so if you can't collect?

Thanks.

BTW thanks to the RM staff for their hard work at these difficult times.

I don't think it necessarily is. I'm not only waiting on parcels, but also magazine subscriptions that should have turned up on or before the 15th of December. They've been sent out, so can only assume they are stuck in the backlog too.

No post here in the S5 Lane Top area today, other than one parcel for the missus from a driver. Has all effort been pushed to the south of Sheffield as the Star suggests? We are still experiencing delays in the north of the city too RM!!

Magazines are handled separately from normal mail also. Depending on the mag they are either delivered in bulk ready sorted into postcodes or sorted manually as a large flat item.

That's right. But you were suggesting that only parcels were delayed. I was saying that that's not necessarily true. :) That's all.

My tracked item isn't receiving much priority, it's in a depot somewhere in the south west and it hasn't moved for 6 days.

Well I've just been pleasantly surprised to have my missing parcel delivered to work this morning - especially as only 10 minutes before I'd checked the tracker which said that it was still sat in the depot down south!
