Ousetunes Posted September 28, 2005 Share Posted September 28, 2005 I know exactly which building you mean and can understand your thinking that at some point it might have been a cinema or theatre. Further to Tony's posting, I recall it being part of the Rolls Royce garage. They had a showroom on Peel Street (I know because my late father actually bought his first RR from there) and their garage (ie, for repairs and so forth) was the very building you are on about here. There was also another garage where the 24/7 supermarket is now (Alldays?). But I too have wondered about the former use of the building you query. It is quite art deco in appearance isn't it?
