Winter Tyres, Would You, Should You?

my father in law always used to use winter tyres, but he found the wear and tare on the car was worse than when using normal tyres, so he switched to using snow chains

Winter tyres are useful whenever the temperature gets below 7 degrees.

Not just for snow!

 

A better option is All-Season tyres. You'll lose a tiny bit of traction in summer, but are much better than summer tyres in the wet, snow, slush, cold, etc.

I use winter tyres, best thing going as many of the smaller country roads/lanes don't get gritted.

Its against the law in Germany not to fit them in winter.So how long before we have the same law?

I have phoned 4 tyre places in Rotherham today and and only 2 of the these places stocked them.Of the these 2 that stocked them, they did not have my size (155x70x13) and could not get hold of any for me from their supplier.

 

Should anyone know where i can get a pair, i am interested.
