RJRB
Why can't we rely on all supermarkets to be honest and straightforward.I am sick of seeing multi packs attractively packaged to suggest a bargain, only to find that they are no cheaper or dearer than purchasing individual items. What a scam!

madasfish
So what's the problem? thought the OP was clear on what the problem is - he does not want supermarkets to advertise bargains that are not .
RJRB
Not a problem when you notice the price difference, but a calculated move to get people to buy more at a dearer price.A marketing con!

Oddgitt
thought the OP was clear on what the problem is - he does not want supermarkets to advertise bargains that are not . And is that really a surprise? It's no secret that things in multi-buys are often lighter/smaller than the equivalent single item to make it seem you're buying more for less. Always check the price per weight/unit. And besides, supermarkets don't do this on everything, alot of things are genuine deals. Don't think it's worth the OP posting a rant just because they've found out the supermarkets aren't the most honest of entities. Everyones got to make a profit. Bah humbug
madasfish
You said it was no cheaper or dearer. Which is it? Both I suspect. Typical example below: beans are 50p per tin. "offered" at 3 for £1.50 - no cheaper but the customer has probably spent more on beans than they intended. clearly if they are "offered" at 2 for £1.10 they are more expensive.
